Week 1: A Q&A with pitcher Tom Koehler
 
 
New Bern River Rats pitcher Tom Koehler delivers a pitch during the team’s season-opening loss to the Wilmington Sharks on May 31. The State University of New York at Stony Brook sophomore is currently 1-0 with a 0.50 earned run average. He is tied for third in the Coastal Plain League with 19 strikeouts in 19 innings pitched.
New Bern River Rats first baseman David Wood gets into fielding position during a game earlier this year. Wood, playing for the River Rats for the second year in a row, sports a .378 batting average, with five doubles, one homer and six RBIs. On the mound, he has a 3.72 earned run average.

Week 5: A Q&A with outfielder Nick Vera
New Bern River Rats outfielder Nick Vera (8) is the only member of the team to have played in every game this season. Vera, a rising senior at Trinity University, is hitting .302 in 34 games

New Bern River Rats first baseman Nick Hall, a rising junor at Washington State University, catches the ball while covering first base during a game earlier this year. Hall, who has a .306 batting average and had driven in 14 runs, also has seen time at catcher and designated hitter for New Bern.
